Manufacturer specs (to be confirmed): UNSTACKER OVERVIEW Infeed System - The infeed rollcases receive unbanded, unstickered, stacks of veneer via a forklift. The veneer stacks advance automatically onto the unstacker scissor lifts as needed. Load present switches indicate when loads are available to advance onto the unstacker lift rolltops. Scissor Lifts - There are two lifts with powered rolltops present in this double unstacker. The lifts will adjust up automatically to insure proper position of the top of the veneer stack. When all the veneer has been unstacked, transferred and the lift is empty, the lift will move to its collapsed position. The lift is now ready to accept another stack of veneer from the infeed system. Take-Off Belt Transfer - This section is made up of two belts with vacuum holes, vacuum plenum, flex duct, suction duct, and a suction fan. This transfer actuates up and down by a hydraulic cylinder. The correct operation of this transfer is the key to successful unstacking. When a stack of veneer is present on the scissor lift and the lift has come up to the proper unstack level, the take-off transfer will lower onto the stack of veneer. The take-off transfer will then return to the up position, taking with it one sheet of veneer. The take-off belts will then start and transfer the sheet downstream, transferring the sheet onto the staging beltway. The take-off belts will stop and the cycle is repeated. GRADING ZONE OVERVIEW Staging Beltway - The four staging belt transfer sections convey the unstacked sheets of veneer away from the take-off transfer. These transfers are also the queue area for holding and placing the sheets of veneer from bin #1 and bin #2 in the proper sequence onto the grading beltway as dictated by the recipe management program. This system helps keep the transfer/grade area into the stacker full at all times and has the ability to place sheets in the proper sequence as required by the various sorting recipes. Grade Beltway - The grading area consists of a grade beltway, Metriguard moisture meter, and reject tipple. The grade beltway transfers the sheets through an operator grade area and a PreTec grade scanner. The operator controls thereject tipple via the operator’s console or a moisture meter output. Thereject tipple rejects sheets into a reject cart. Sheets are then transferred unto the stacker infeed beltway and into the stacker plenum. STACKER OVERVIEW The variable speed stacker is designed to transport the veneer from the infeed belt to the bin assemblies at up to 50 pieces per minute (375 fpm at 60 Hz). En route to the desired bin, a number of things are being done to the sheet. Knock-off Prox - Each bin is associated with two proxes that are mounted up inside the stacker transport belts. There is one eye on each side of the machine, just inside the bin hoist. The function of these eyes is to detect the sheet once the system has determined the sheet is destined for that bin. Onc
