YATES-AMERICAN B-244 30" PLANER30" x 8" Cap., 7.5 HP - 3,600 RPM direct drive motor, 4-knife 4-1/4" dia. cutterhead; 1/8" min. material thickness, 11" min. unbutted stock length, 3-1/4" min. butted stock length. -- 30" x 40" Cast iron table bed, manual raise-and-lower on (2) 1-3" /8 dia. hoist screws; belt drive feed system, variable speed 25 - 70 FPM; (2) 4" dia. powered upper rollers with a sectional top in feed roll, (2) 4" dia. bed rollers, and sectional chipbreaker. Fully restored in 2025 with: -- 240 VAC, 3 Phase, 3600 RPM, 7-1/2 HP direct drive cutter head motor, 3/4 HP separate drive train motor. -- Four-wheel drive - all four rollers are powered for stock feed. -- Segmented infeed roll and chip breaker - both rebuilt with new springs, spring caps, and graphite lubricant. -- Two new, hardened 52100 steel bearing shafts heat treated at SW Metal Treating in Fort Worth and precision ground at Fort Worth Centerless grinding. -- Fully repaired and insulated leads on the motor stator. Stator was fully checked at T-Gray Electric in Dallas; all tests passed. Results report included. -- Upgraded threaded riser shafts from 1-1/4" to 1-3/8". -- Improved Reeves Drive motor mount collar. -- Rebuilt drive train motor with new bearings. -- New Timken cutter head bearings; new needle bearings where required. -- Dynamically balanced cutter head and motor rotor assembly. -- New cutter head knives. -- Rebuilt power transfer shaft housing. -- New transmission frame and speed adjustment linkage. -- Rebuilt speed control knob. -- Two new drive train chains. -- Everything fully stripped, degreased, de-rusted, primed, painted. -- Custom start button console. -- Table and table rollers have residual rust pitting that does not affect performance or surface finish. -- Custom dust chute with 8" hose adapter
